November 10, 2015 PTG Meeting Minutes

Present: Shannon Stover, Jess Miller, Rebecca Hart, Sandra Butz, Jessica Bierly, Ms. Houser, Jess Neese.

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend.

  • Secretary Report:  Motion made by Jess Neese to approve October minutes and 2nd by Jess Miller. Voted and approved.
  • Treasurer Report: 

Starting Balance=$8770.16

Expenses:

-Olivia VanAmburgh (Babysitter for Sept. Meeting)=$15.00

-Jess Neese=$222.54

-Shannon Stover=$138.44

-PVEI PTO (Field Day Wristbands)=$43.00

-Clifford the Big Red Dog @ PSU=$568.00

-Wasson’s Farm=$95.00

-MacNeal’s=$90.00

Income:

+PVEI PTO (Donation for books)=$250.00

+PVEI PTO (Color-A-Thon)=$294.00

Ending Balance=$8142.18

 

Motion made to let treasurer’s report stand as is by Jess Neese and 2nd by Shannon Stover. Voted and approved.

 

  • Old Business:
  1. Email Correspondence
    1. oMrs. Homan asked for approval via email for Box of Light (2 science assemblies)-January 22nd will be ZAP Electricity and March 3rd will be Simple Machines. Shannon Stover made motion to pay $650.00 for the two assemblies and 2nd by Jess Miller.
  2. Fundraisers
    • Great American Magazine Sale

      -Reach Out books received: 27

      -Magazine subscriptions ordered from Reach Out book mailings: 49

      -Total retail sales from Reach Out: $1,109.50

      -Profit from Reach Out (40% of retail minus postage for mailings): $347.27

      -Only had 1 online order so far that brings your total profit to $353.27. A check was sent on Monday for the amount of $327.27; we will receive the rest of our profit and any new profit in December. They send checks monthly.

  3. Book Fair
    • Jess Neese to send home dates/times of fair and All for Books forms with students
  4. Buddy Bench
    • Shannon Stover spoke with Mrs. McAlpine about starting to work with students on a design concept.
    • Benches to be built in either Feb. or March and painted in March, April, May
  5. Apparel
    • Decided not to do apparel sale, will possibly do one in Spring.
    • PVAHS Student Council currently doing apparel sale, Shannon Stover will look into opportunity for us to purchase.
  6. Other
  • Yearbook

    -Jess Miller to collect business ads in November/December

    -Finalize by February

  • Box Tops

    -Rebecca Hart sent in submission, should be getting check for approximately $370.00

    -Reminder to be sent home with students to keep collection

    -Next submission in March

  • Library

    -PVEI PTO gave us a $250.00 donation to purchase more books for our library. Mrs. Albright has ordered books using that money.

    -The furniture is in and placed in the library.

    -Mr. Nyquist has ordered the Bee Bots, unsure when these will be in

     

  • New Business:

  1. No Brainer Fundraisers
    • Shoparoo App-Jess Miller will send information home with students
    • School Store

-FREE MONEY-School Store is an online shopping mall with over 400 companies ready to support your school. Companies like Wal-Mart, Sears, Target, Barnes & Nobles, Family Bookstore, and Office Depot will give up to 50% of their online sales to participating schools.

-Starts in Jan./Feb. 2016

  1. Holiday Concerts
  • Monday, December 7th-K5-2 grades at 1:30 and 7:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, December 8th-3rd and 4th grade at 1:30 and 7:00 p.m.
  • Will collect canned goods in classrooms for local food bank the week of Dec. 7th, may also bring donations to concerts.

 

  • Teacher’s Corner
  1. 1.Ms. Houser with request from teachers, would like to place order with Oriental Trading for ornaments for each class in order for students to decorate tree. Motion made by Jess Miller to approve spending for this and 2nd by Jess Neese.

 

Next Meeting:  The December meeting was cancelled.  Our next meeting will be Tuesday, January 12, 2016 @ 6:30 p.m. in Art/Music Room
